The other day I went with my friend Scott to have a bite to eat at Subway and draw some maps. When we got there we were greeted with very friendly staff who helped us choose our lunch and sold me a subway card. I was fortunate to have bought a softdrink with my meal that opened many new worlds to me with Microsoft Xbox and I earned one hundred points that I am expecting in the next three weeks and six days. There is a contest going on and the code that was on my cup for one of the Microsoft Xbox games was a winner. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and enjoyed my Doritos Chips and healthy combo of Tuna Sandwitch with veggies and Ranch Sauce and melted cheese. Unfortunately the tracing paper we got was used to wrap the sandwitches as there were no plates to serve the meal on and the tracing paper had subway printed on it. I tried to find tracing paper in Staples down the street, but ended up investing in some Crayola crafts and other art and mathematical supplies. Overall I had a splendid time and managed to discuss many pressing issues with my friend. Because I bought a Subway card I was fortunate to get a free sandwtich that Scott enjoyed eating as well.

This is truly one of the best Mexican restaurants around. The atmosphere is simple and as stated in other reviews, the seating is limited. The service was relatively fast and pleasant.
What we ordered is listed below. Everything was fresh, delicious and the platters were balanced and well presented. It is clear that there is an underlying culinary passion at this restaurant that is rarely found these days. Reasonable prices make this an ideal spot for lunch or dinner.
When in the mood for Mexican food, this restaurant is very likely to satisfy.

Awesome home made noodles, won tons and spring rolls.
I just happened upon this spot which is a little out of the way but the food was amazing. I had to ask if it was all hand made and John came out of the kitchen to chat. He was really kind and looked cool in his whites and chefs hat.
He makes everything fresh on the premises.
Service was "ok" we were never asked fr drinks etc, the waitress seemed uninterested but that is OK as the food was great
Whenever I am back in Victoria this will be a 100% destination

I didn't like sushi until I had it at Shizen. I've tried other restaurants since then and keep coming back to them. I love their Sushi. It is the best and freshest in town.

Best Sunday Brunch in Victoria. It may be a little pricey ($30) but is completely worth it. A traditional brunch with a west coast flair. If you are planning on going to a special occasion (Mother's Day etc) be sure to make reservations far in advance as it really fills up.

I stumbled accross Vic's Steakhouse last Friday and was more than happy I did. I was staying in the James Bay area for a week and was surprised that I hadn't heard of this gem from more people!
We sat in the lounge and were served by a bartender who was charismatic and knowledgable. The service was prompt but not rushed, and we were treated to great music by a live band.
I ordered the halibut, as I do not eat meat, and it was done perfectly. Very simple but flavourful at the same time. My companion ordered a steak and said it was one of the best he had experienced in Victoria so far! We shared a home made ice cream sandwich for dessert and at the end I was so full we ended up staying and enjoying the band for another cocktail.
I would reccommend this restaurant to tourists and locals alike and will definitely return!

The spicy Tune cones here are the best any where I have tried them in the world! I'm not kidding, order and you will see. They are VERY large and are so yummy!
The lunch menu here is better than most. On of the best values is a combo bento box that allows you to combine any two lunch items for around 11 bucks. The sushi is slightly above average for the most part. Nice atmosphere with many tatami rooms.
The servers are friendly but the service here after you get your food is poor. The restaurant is always very busy so get there early for lunch.
They offer a weekend special where you can get 20% off your lunches. Good deal and I would recommend you check that out.
One of the best Japanese restaurants in town overall.
Very good parking situation usually as well.

If you would like to take a date or your significant other out for a romantic dinner at a restaurant with a very nice quite, dimly lit intimate atmosphere where the service is first rate the wine list is simply huge and the food is of the finest quality this is the place to go.
The restaurant supports local farmers and serves foods from around the South Vancouver Island area.
This isn't one of those BIG plate Small food places that charges a fortune. The portions don't appear to be as large as they really are. The way the chef marries many falvours together with each dish is nothing short of spectacular.

In contrast with the other restaurants in town, I found East Garden to reign supreme in every aspect of my dining experience. Their decor consisted of nothing but the most extravagant and visually aesthetic representation of chinese culture that I have seen thus far in my long lived life. As for the food... well. I find that words cannot do justice to the oral pleasures that I consumed at this haven of culinary excellence. When It comes to the service at East Garden, one could only compare such satisfaction to the feeling of eating from a 76 year old woman named Esther. If that doesn't sum up the kind of experience that East Garden has to offer, I don't know what else will.

This is an old time favourite, I don't know how they do it, but they always have a special and it is always the best in town. Off the menue, the Fajita's are some of the best in the city, they make a great burger too. Thi is a very busy spot on Fridays after work for locals, and does a good business on Wednesday and Thursday evenings too with sports groups and locals. The place is loud when busy, do to a horrible wood ceiling they added 4 or 5 years ago when they renevated. But it is quite and slower paced at noon and early in the week, or surprisinly on weekends. Over all it is my favourite in the city - don't ruin it!
