    No Problems

    We are a local Landscaping Company operating out of Dartmouth. We have been using Ascon Paving for almost eight years and after almost thirty projects completed together, we have never had any issues arise. All of my clients to date have been more than happy with their driveways, the owner is on site for every job to make sure all work is completed to the highest standard and all of there guys seem very knowledgeable about their trade. With that being said we look forward to our next project with Ascon Paving and will always speak very highly of their work.

    Bad, awful, the worst

    First try, they showed up at the end of the day without enough material to do the job. The edges of the driveway were less than 1 inch thick. So, by the next spring the driveway was a crumbling mess. We called and were promised that it would be fixed immediately. Everytime we called we were told, next week. Well, that turned into the end of the summer. Finally, the day arrived. The crew shows up around 1:00pm ready to work. The boss/owner shows up and says they are to do another job first (we were low priority as they couldn't make any money from us). They leave and when they came back at the end of the day, surprise, they didn't have enough asphalt to do the whole driveway(we were there to make sure of the thickness this time) , they told us they had forgot how long the driveway was. How professional is that?. Their solution was to come back the next day and fill in the rest. That gave us a hugh bump across the bottom half of the driveway. We were told, 'Don't worry that will smooth itself out. Well, its still there over a year later, They gave us no customer service, poor quality work (cracked the garage floor by taking machines too far in, left another seam straight up the center of the driveway and crushed the drainage system they were supposed to be careful of ) and a very awful looking driveway, at full price.

    Do not hire!

    I ended up with a driveway riddled with at least 10 huge bumps and crumbling edges. Service warranty was not honoured. The service was promised for 5 months and postponed. At the end of the paving season, Ascon revealed that the issue was not covered under the warranty, after opening the driveway up and creating a mess. No accountability, in fact everybody else was to blame, but the paving company. As a customer, I felt misled, lied to, and backed into a corner, as there no options left. Would not recommend the company to anyone. The stress from the situation was too much.
