find another vet unless you want to put your pet down
had to put my 4 year old dog down after neeedles and pills . if u have to give hydroixozine watch it cause it is not aprove by FDA
Horrible service, abnormally long wait times, unknowledgeable vets who DO NOT care for your pet.
Cheap is not always a good thing! Please find another vet who actually cares about the wellness of your pet!
I felt as though the Doctor did not want anything to do with my dog. He barely touched him. His stomach had been acting up and I was told he could not be treated until had a $350 test done because he likely had a serious disease. I was worried and agreed (even though I told the vet money was tight). He soon after prescribed him pills without having the test results. With one dose he was better. 3 days later Im out nearly $500, my dog is fine, and I got a call today saying hes perfectly healthy.
Dr. George was very disrespectful and rude in front of my child. He couldnt even be bothered to touch my pet and scolded me for allowing him to roam the treatment room, though the vet tech said it was fine and safe to do so. Offered no options for treatment outside of expensive and aggressive means. I felt terrible after this experience and wonder where is the compassion mandated by his college? I got a second opinion and received exceptional care elsewhere. I could never recommend this clinic.
Staff is absolutely amazing here. They were very comforting to us when we had to euthanize our cat this past weekend. They genuinely care about the pets AND the families they serve.

I have used this clinic for the last 15+ years. I lived in Oshawa and still drove to this clinic because the staff are great. I currently live in Guelph ... the home of the OVC.. the clinic that most military and police use for their animals... you know what.. I choose Brimley and Lawrence Animal Clinic (BLAC) over the vets in Guelph... the prices are great.. the staff are professional and knowledgeable.. I can always get in for last minute appointments.. as other reviewers have commented the waiting area is bare bones.. no frills but when you are deal with with sick and injured animals you dont want frills.. frills makes it harder to clean and sanitize.
Been going there for approx. 5 years. its a low priced, economy clinic... so don't expect a fancy waiting room and really.. the dogs, bleed, urinate and defecate all over, when their sick: they toss up... so economy makes sense... they even help out the feral cat rescue places with low, low priced services.. good stuff.
As for heart worm meds.. they give the customer the choice(they send you home with the heart worm/flea stuff and tell you to wait for the blood results cause it could make the dog really sick if you don't...) for just regular deworming, like for a young dog: it will make the dog have the runs usually anyways. If your dog had worms they'll throw up too. You went in thinking you only needed shots but deworming and bloodwork is all needed too, for a new pet especially. So blood work about $50, shots $35, appt./visit $29, deworming meds about $30(depending on dog size).. obviously something else.. + hst...this would've cost about $300 + at the clinic near me. Its $85 for the clinic appt. alone.
If the doctor didn't speak english well enough for you.. all you had to say politely to the receptionist was.. Sorry but I need someone who's more fluent so I can understand the treatment better. You were part of that situation... you need to advocate on your own behalf. I agree you should have a fluent doctor. I don't wanna guess about the info either. We are an english speaking country. I expect fluent english service.
I find the service reasonable and haven't had a problem so far... But I was looking for low price so wasn't bothered with the plain, servicable waiting room. It cost a lot for vets anywhere but I found here, they were half price for most stuff like xrays and blood work then the fancy clinic down the street from me. We have multiple pets and a budget so it was a good choice for us.
I went to this facility and expected a bill for 39.50 but walked out with extra services I did not need nor want. My bill was almost 200.00. It also caused my pet to be sick with all the shots it was given totally and unsafe clinic. They also give medication when not needed. I had my pet tested for worms and they gve the medication before waiting for the results. The results came back negative so I paid for this medicine that my pet did not need. The Dr could not speak English and Chrisitne the receptionist was totally rude and could not even listen to you as the customer what so ever. I would not visit this clinic again. The owner of the Clinic does not return call either seems they just WANT YOUR MONEY
This is great clinic as well as a kennel where we can trust to leave our pup while we are away, Overall they have a groomer that know just what's best for the pup & us. We can leave the pup for the day while they take care of the medical & grooming needs & we are able to pick him before 8pm. If weather does not permit we are able to call & have him stay the night for a minimal charge. They feed him & play with him & he has a great experience - thanks!!
I have been taking my older dog to this clinic for 6 years and even as he's about to turn 12. The vet's & staff there are so fantastic with him. Even now that he has gone blind & need more patients to be cared for. I have brought in 2 strays I have found and they have nurtured them back to heath & made sure I had all the info. I needed as well. This same vet. center & staff will soon be assessing the now almost 3 years old to be a Therapy Dog. I could not have gotten him this far if not for their staff. From stray to Therapy dog in under 3 years. I have taken cats there for older folks as well. What can I say. Great & caring staff ,with the best Rates & love for all, I have found in this city. They are located in a very easy access points right beside two different bus lines & with Lot's of free parking too. Yes they are very wheelchair accessible to. Can't say tat for many vet offices I have dealt with.Simply the Best!
