Excellent Doctor with a few quirks

Dr Costom is an EXCELLENT doctor, better than most. He is highly trustworthy and will ALWAYS tell you the truth even if it was not a truth you wanted to be told. He allows for questions and takes the time for answering. Some times he may come off as condescending but in reality he is just trying to show the opposite. He is just trying to say, in an albeit distant and dry kind of way that because he knows what he knows and the yo as the patients' mom/dad likely do not he knows the best treatment plan and likely outcome and he can already see what the end result will be IF WE LISTEN to what he has to say. Thus he may appear impatient in getting taht message across but in the eand it is because he truly cares about his patients and wants nothing but the best for them These days there are very few pediatricians that will follow-up on their patients on their time off just to make sure they are doing all right. Dr. Costom does. Our son ended up hospitalized one night b/c of croup, we had seen him in the morning and only brought him to the Childrens hospital in the middle of that night. Given that we did not show up to our follow up the next day, Dr Costom called all the hospitals until he found his patient and startyed to work with the ER doctors on their case and called every hour on the hour without us even knowing. Had it not been for the nurse telling me I never would have know how truly dedicated he his to his patients. He may seem somewhat aloof when you see him but trust me he observes everything and only has the best interest of your child at heart. I would recommend him to anyone. Just keep in mind that you have to be strong enough to push him in to slowing down and keeping you in the loop and pat of the decision making process. Overall he is excellent.
