When the pizza arrived at my table, I was immediately captivated by its presentation. The crust was thin and perfectly crispy, with a slight char that hinted at the traditional wood-fired baking method. The tomato sauce was vibrant and flavorful, spread generously over the dough and adorned with creamy mozzarella cheese and fresh basil leaves. Arrived late, cook had left but as we just left without food, the owner and his wife invited us back in and his chef wife made wonderful chicken Alfredo and done in seemingly minutes. The service was worth the trip alone and the delicious portions filled this 270 pound (123kg) hearty eater. The waiter, Ray, extremely nice and the owner introduced wife after we finished. I had heard terrific things about Domani, a restaurant run by a former pro footballer from Afghanistan who has worked at some of Toronto's top restaurants, and had to come down to High Park and see for myself. The service was very courteous, prompt, and personal. At no point did we even have to ask for anything because it was already taken care of. The food was exquisite, well-presented and skilfully prepared. The portions were large but despite being quite full it was too delicious to leave any behind. The desserts were absolutely amazing, though next time I would do without the espresso. Though Domani requires a bit of a journey, I have not eaten anywhere in Toronto where gourmet food of this quality is available at such a reasonable price and accompanied by such excellent service. Seriously, best restaurant i have been to! Donatello on Elm in Toronto - the service was sooo good - made very special by our knowlwedgable server! The food - sublime! I highly recommend it! We enjoyed a tasty steak with garlic mash and ceasar salad on the side, chicken wings as a starter and had a lovely chocolates brownie with ice cream, cream and chocolate sauce for desert, excellent and very reasonably priced for downtown Toronto. Went to this restaurant for the first time at lunch time. We had the lasagna, salad and garlic bread. The food was excellent and the staff is friendly and knows how to treat customers. Food was reasonably good, but nothing to rave about or complain about either. Portion sizes were a little large. We were on the patio which was fine, but the chairs were back-breakingingly awful and the patio and tables sort of gave the impression that things weren't all that clean. Wait staff was reasonably attentive but not overly friendly. The overall impression was one of a cramped, crowded space both inside and on the patio -too bad they couldn't expand their space. The foccacia bread was delicious. They brought us extra when ours was gone. The decor is calming even when the restaurant is packed. Please make a reservation!
