We found the staff to be very friendly and were glad to give us directions to the different places in town. The service was fast and the waitress was very polite and freindly. The serving of food were large and hot. They have a large assortement of food on their menu and they made you feel welcome as soon as you entered the restaurant. Iwould recomend the restraunt gladly to all my freinds and family.

We have never had a bad meal at Palm Garden. You are greeted as soon as you sit down. Service is reasonably quick and friendly. Recommend the fried chicken. (enough for 2 meals). Nice to have another restaurant in our town.

This review is for early December 2010. Group of about 12 people for lunch buffet on a weekday. I believe the total cost with a pop was about $14 each including tip and tax so that was great.
As in my other review, we felt like Kingston had no decent Chinese until Panda Garden came along. We've had buffet there several times as party of two but this was the first bigger group. We had called ahead for a table, which was smart as the place was full for lunch.
The buffet for Panda Garden was always impressive for variety and regular turnover/top-ups of the hot dishes but they expanded a couple of years ago to try some basic Thai and sushi dishes. The Thai and sushi are not the world's greatest but they are fine and nice for variety and that's ok because Kingston has so many other specialty restaurants for that if you want it.
The variety of ice cream and desserts, as mentioned in other reviews, is impressive though we rarely make space for it in our multiple tours around the hot and cold stuff.
What we enjoy about the buffet are:
- wonton soup with green onions on the side if you like to add them
- egg rolls
- sweet and sour chicken balls
- General Tao chicken
- other beef and vegetable dishes depending on what's there that day
We find going in around 4:30-4:45pm on weekdays when the dinner service is getting started is ideal. Everything is fresh and hot and not as crowded as it is at 5:00pm or later. We haven't had a problem with food sitting around but then we don't try to go for buffet at mid-afternoon either.
We have always found the buffet servers to be pleasant and efficient with taking away dirty plates, topping up soft drinks and preparing the bill. Atmosphere is clean and pleasant with ample space to walk around with plates of food.

I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. Ever. I am quite suspicious of the bad reviews that are written as I hve had several of the dishes offered and all were excellent. Spring rolls are always delicious. Am heading back there after I submit this review.

Went there for lunch today ,Tuesday Sept 11th ,on entering the restaurant immediately noticed how exceptionally clean and tidy it was ,at the time it was easy to get a table as it had just gone 12 in an hour people were waiting for a table it was busy .we had the buffet it was one of the best Ive had in ages food was hot and plentiful and delicious from the first bite to the last .it is worth the drive from Owen sound

I've been going to Peter's since I was in high school in the late 80's and it's always great. The service is excellent and it's nice to have a restaurant where you can get regular diner food like hot dogs, grilled cheese and fries and gravy (and their chocolate milkshakes are wonderful, too). The serving staff is nice and friendly and a lot of them have been there for many, many years so I think Peter's must be as good to their staff as they are to their customers. Peter owned the restaurant for a long time, but retired a couple of years ago and the food has remained constant. Peter's is a great place to eat if you're looking for family-friendly diner-style cuisine.
