I was looking for my wedding hair stylist online from Alberta as I live out of province and needed a somewhere local in Sooke that was economical and close to our venue. The island is big and I just didn't want too much travel time in between the location and getting to my ceremony on time. The people at Janza truly go above and beyond for their customers! My first time there, they stayed past closing time so I could have my hair done, and since I was in a rush, two of the hair stylists stayed late so they could BOTH work on my hair. Not only was their work done at super-human speed, but the results were gorgeous, and the price was right!

This lady has a vast background in hairdressing,serving many years as a hairdresser etc., on cruise ships. European trade her skills are obvious especially in use of her scissors in restyling hair. I was especially pleased in her quick understanding of what I was attempting to tell her of the style I wanted and how she was expertly able to transfer my out of bounds of naturally curly hair into something manageable and stylish.

Tarah is a hair magician. I don't know anyone who can do what she does. Going from dark brown to blonde that has dimension and no damage in one day is unheard of. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. She also does the best makeup and lashes!! I always feel like my best self after seeing her for anything beauty related!! She's an expert in everything beauty and glam!

I have been a customer here for approx 5 years. The staff takes the time to know the customers and learn about what they like. When i walk into House of Russell, I feel like family. They remember what hair style I like and know how to treat me. All of the hair dressers are experienced but keep very up to date on modern hair styles. I would recommend House of Russell to anyone who wants the service and attention of a high class salon without the high price. Washed my hair for free, almost exclusively used scissors rather than an electric shaver so no loud noise and IMO a better cut anyway, didn't complain when I had to get cash out of the ATM next door, and didn't mind talking to pass the time.
I also got one of the best haircuts I've ever had out of it, for the same price as I would have payed in the city for an assembly line, all shaver, in and out ASAP hack and slash.

Michelle was very professional, punctual and affordable in comparison. I've been to several ladies for electrolysis and Michelle is definitely one of the best. She is very quick and thorough. There was no bruising or bad reactions afterwards. I recommend her profusely.

My wife and I having been going to the Mayfair Chatters for years and I can't think of a complaint. The young lady's working the reception are courteous and helpful and the stylists are even better. The wife sees Kylee and I go in for Carrie and both of these artists keep us looking sorted and presentable. Admittedly I just get a cut, but the missus spends hours getting coloured and coiffed. And she always turns heads. The salon is almost always full of great energy and there's a tattooed fella in the middle who's everybody's best friend (or little brother, it's tough to tell).
Highly recommended on account of their mix of professionalism, talent, and convenience. They are in a mall after all.
