We had our heat pump fail on New Years a couple of years ago. Called one company who came out and took out a part that was causing the heat pump to fail. So he hooked up so our electric furnace would keep us warm. It did of course, but we then used a lot more electricity- enough that the Hydro company called because our bill/usage had skyrocketed.
Unfortunately, this company didn't deal with replacing a heat pump. We found one dealer who came out and said a particular part was kaput, so we needed to replace the furnace and the heat pump. and gave us a price.
At that point, we figured if it was the whole system to replace, we should check out another quote. So one of the companies we called was Grand River. Bill came out assessed the situation. He found that that part could have been replaced for a lot less than the whole new system.
In the end, we did replace the whole system, partly because there were government incentives at the time which gave us about a $1000 in rebates. And we appreciated Bill's honesty and expertise.
Our system was over 20 years old and the heat pump compressor was not in the best of shape.

Our furnace broke in the middle of the night on CHRISTMAS and Brendan took the call at 1am. Vince came out to do the repairs in the morning and he was friendly, patient and reassuring. I contacted another company prior who "diagnosed" my A/C problem over the phone and wanted to have my unit replace without looking at it. They quoted me a high price for what they though was the problem and for a new
Disgruntled I called CCA & within an hour and a half a technician was over and diagnosed the issue (blown capacitor), replaced it, and we were good to go.
The price was a third of what the other company quoted and customer service was amazing. A+ service & definitely recommended.
