My husband and I dined at La Casa on Saturday night. We started with Mussels for appetizer - delicious...I wanted to drink the sauce it was so good. We also shared a Ceasar Salad. The dressing was very nice, perhaps a bit too much garlic (a little too overwhelming). Still tasty though. I ordered lobster pasta, all I can say is DELICIOUS! So tasty. I brought some home and was looking forward to eating it again the next day for lunch. My husband ordered beef tenderloin. Again, delicious! Tender, perfectly cooked and tasty. The waiter was very professional and friendly. We had a great time and a fantastic meal. No wonder La Casa is still one of the best restaurant's in London. It's so nice to go out for dinner and receive a great meal. The meals are not pretentious or overpriced (unlike other London restaurants in the downtown area). The food is simply delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I had a Grilled Sandwich with Bacon, Egg & Cheese with a Cream of Broccoli Soup. The sandwich was great and the soup was to die for - so creamy and made from scratch too! It was ready in minutes, so anyone could be in and out of there on their lunch break without a problem, even though the place was packed. I looked around and was very impressed by how clean and tidy this place was. All the staff, including the chef, was very friendly. The biggest surprise, was when I got to the till and saw how affordable it was! When you get great food, which is affordable, a spotless restaurant, friendly staff with good service, what else could you possibly want.......well, there was one thing - I don't prefer booths or stools, but it is part of the classic diner atmosphere and all the other benefits definitely outweigh this one very minor detail. I get lunch at Nooners several times a week and have done so for at least 10 years (usually take-out). The food is always delicious - very fresh and homemade. Their soups and sandwiches are especially good (and the cookies....). I find the staff are always friendly, know regular customers by name (and their usual orders) and are very efficient despite the large number of people who are there for lunch every day. I do not think there is a lunch place anywhere else in London that can match Nooners for quality, speed and value. Lire plus
