Darcy Broatch's love of cocktails first began when she met her husband, Jordie Yow. “He was always really into cocktails,” she recalls. “He had his own home bar when I met him. I didn't really know a lot about any of it, so it was great getting a chance to learn what he knew, and opening up that world.”

When the couple opened Vancouver's Sips Cocktail Emporium in July of 2015, they sought to spread their love of boozy libations amongst discerning hobbyists just like themselves, creating a friendly space that features high-quality cocktail-making supplies that would be a welcome addition to any home bar.

“We were at a wedding in Toronto and we saw this store, BYOB, and we thought it was a really cool idea," Darcy recalls. "We saw a niche in the Vancouver scene that hadn't been filled yet. So, when we got back, we put together the idea, with our own spin on it. We spent some time doing research, and saving up for it, and now, here we are.”

    Sips has a fantas...

    Sips has a fantastic selection of party-hosting supplies. My wife and I have picked up several bottles of bitters, some scotch glasses, and a couple bartending books from here that we hadn't seen elsewhere. Everything has been top quality and seems reasonably priced.
