Grace Dong is a self-proclaimed “hat person,” so it just makes sense that she runs a hat boutique.

The Stylish Traveler, located near the seaside in sunny White Rock, is filled with a wide range of hats, and to complement them, scarves and shawls, which will add flair to your wardrobe.

Grace and her husband Max also run a successful hat and gift store at the Tsawwassen ferry terminal, but many of their regular customers can’t visit their store without buying a ferry ticket, so they started looking for a location to open a second store.

Before moving to Canada permanently from her native Beijing, Grace had stayed in White Rock and enjoyed its charming atmosphere. “I remember the scenery and the people — I have good memories,” Grace explains. She especially likes the small community and the people in the quaint, beachside town.

On a walk one day along South Beach in White Rock, a beachside commercial strip with restaurants and boutiques popular with tourists and locals alike, Grace and Max saw an available storefront and concluded “this is just the place for us.”

They opened their White Rock store in June 2014, and filled it not with just hats and accessories but also with gift ware.

    I bought a hat at the Ferry Causeway location near the Delta Ferry Terminal. I discovered once on the ferry that the seller had removed the price tag along with the information about the hat (important if this is a gift) and DID NOT provide a recipe. I paid cash. Clearly this was a big mistake as in addition to charging me the taxes, the intent is to not claim this sale.
