I love the new decor! My husband and I shared the Warm Salad special, which was fantastic. I had the Duo of Duck and my husband tried the special which was Beef Cheek. Both were really, really good. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, which was very reasonably priced. Service was attentive and professional, with just enough friendliness. We will definitely be back. I was wary to visit this place from the previous reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! They've done renovations as well as changed their menu. It has been for the better! Our server, George, although new to the restaurant (starting one week prior) was very knowledgeable. I ask as many questions as possible, and I'm glad he could answer most, others he would go to the kitchen to ask any he did not know. One important question was where they source their beef, I was told it is all Ontario beef which pleased me. The Beef Carpaccio was nice, as well as the Beef Wellington. Not the most traditional way to create the dish, but it was still tasty. The pork was nice, although the apple-bacon compote may have been a bit over-the-top on bacon. The Lamb chop was crusted nicely and was done VERY evenly. The dessert was something else. Homemade marshmallows, homemade graham cookies, caramel sauce, and milk chocolate sauce. The marshmallows were on sticks and you have your own campfire that comes along with it. Very novel, very exciting, and the smell of the fire was very close to a campfire. All in all, a good visit. My husband and I both ordered the ham and eggs breakfast, which came with toast, jam, and home fries. The ham wasn't greasy, the scrambled eggs were "real ", and the home fries were piping hot. Kudos to the cook in the kitchen. The coffee was hot, but too strong for my tastes. Charlene, our server, made sure our cups were topped up and that we were satisfied with our meal. Price of coffee is included in the price of breakfast, and if you're there before 11:30 there's a $1 discount per plate. We would definitely go again if we were passing through this area. Lire plus
