This place came up when I asked some friends about a good burger joint in Kingston. I gave it a shot and I have to agree the food is great. The burgers are large portion, and the sweet potato fries where great along with the chipotle mayo. The two meals and an appetizer ran up a pretty healthy bill, but it was worth it. Its a comfortable place to eat with medium to high level food in a relaxed atmosphere. Lire plus

Had the one piece halibut and chips and the food was good, asked for side of coleslaw and an iced tea. A little shocked at getting a bill for 20.91. I think this is a bit pricey for not even getting a beer with it. Coleslaw $3, iced tea $3.30. Overpriced. Won't return. Lire plus

Something is wrong with the people who gave this place a poor review. Go and taste for yourself! Atmosphere can be a little crowded and noisy, but depends on what time you go. Dinner is very quiet, while breakfast is louder. Busy restaurant = great food! It feels just like home when eating here, very friendly and service is A+. Server Kelly is especially excellent. Great place to eat and great service. Been there 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I guess there going through change of ownership. Amazing to me how rude people can be. One of the times I was there I was standing in line and some lady was saying she had been waiting an hour. I had walk in behind them and she told the server that she was waiting for over an hour. Been a few years since we were at Raxx and were pleasantly surprised this week. Nice renovations make the place look brighter than before and lots of options for seating, pool tables, bar area, TVs, etc. Food was surprisingly good, particularly the chicken wings that were well cooked, perfectly sauced and quite meaty. This was not a Wednesday night so not sure if the wing quality is better/worse/same on the night that wings are discounted. It was a pleasure to have the option of blue cheese dip with real chunks of cheese in it. Wish more places served this with their wings and/or pizza! :) The salad was a huge serving and very fresh ingredients. The grilled chicken was finely shredded and nicely flavoured. I eat a lot of chicken and salad and this was a surprisingly good one. Red wine vinaigrette was a nice option too. Service was a bit slow for refilling drinks and for bringing out the food considering the place was practically empty but the order came exactly as requested including a couple of customizations to the salad. The menu is straightforward and not too complicated nor too many items. Could use a fewer lower-fat items but realistically I wouldn't expect to find much of that on a sports bar menu so not a big deal. We were quite surprised at the food quality and would come back. I am practically a regular here now. I go twice a month minimum. The first time I came here I have to admit I was afraid to try some things but we ordered off of the all you can eat menu and I was amazed at how much they offered and especially for me since I won't eat anything raw. Go for lunch during the week if you can to save money @ 13.99$ a person rather than 21.99$ on nights and weekends for the exact same thing. Overall a delicious option. Lire plus

While waiting for our food, my husbands sugar crashed and he felt horrible, sweaty, shaky, dizzy.. the staff noticed something was wrong and immediately sprang into action. They offered orange juice and some ice for his neck.... by the time he felt better we didn’t want to eat... they packed up our food and the manager took care of the bill. Have visited many times in the past year, including visits with friends who are from Montreal and can't get good Cambodian food there. The takeout is always ready on time and attentive to any exceptions or modifications we request. Tip: ask for a slice of lime with the pad thai and squeeze it over the top - makes all of the wonderful flavours crank up another notch. The servers are very friendly and everything is nicely plated or well packed for takeout. The pork salad rolls are a favourite: light, fresh, flavourful and very low fat. The pad thai is a fave and we've recently started getting the vegetarian version with tofu, which is excellent. Please give Siem Reap a try, you'll want to come back often. Lire plus

Yes! Talk about Asian Hospitality! If this is how all the Asian restaurants run outside of the GTA (particularly, Toronto, Scarborough, Finch areas), I am willing to drive further for it! The sushi definitely had a different style to it - both in taste and presentation, and I have had my fair share of general sushi. Hands down, their sushi was really something else. This review is for early December 2010. Group of about 12 people for lunch buffet on a weekday. I believe the total cost with a pop was about $14 each including tip and tax so that was great. As in my other review, we felt like Kingston had no decent Chinese until Panda Garden came along. We've had buffet there several times as party of two but this was the first bigger group. We had called ahead for a table, which was smart as the place was full for lunch. The buffet for Panda Garden was always impressive for variety and regular turnover/top-ups of the hot dishes but they expanded a couple of years ago to try some basic Thai and sushi dishes. The Thai and sushi are not the world's greatest but they are fine and nice for variety and that's ok because Kingston has so many other specialty restaurants for that if you want it. The variety of ice cream and desserts, as mentioned in other reviews, is impressive though we rarely make space for it in our multiple tours around the hot and cold stuff. What we enjoy about the buffet are: - wonton soup with green onions on the side if you like to add them - egg rolls - sweet and sour chicken balls - General Tao chicken - other beef and vegetable dishes depending on what's there that day We find going in around 4:30-4:45pm on weekdays when the dinner service is getting started is ideal. Everything is fresh and hot and not as crowded as it is at 5:00pm or later. We haven't had a problem with food sitting around but then we don't try to go for buffet at mid-afternoon either. We have always found the buffet servers to be pleasant and efficient with taking away dirty plates, topping up soft drinks and preparing the bill. Atmosphere is clean and pleasant with ample space to walk around with plates of food. Lire plus
