Consistently impressive Indian buffet. Always fresh and fantastic. My grandmother lives close by and we always go out to eat at this restaurant. I even had my graduation lunch here after I finished university. The atmosphere is clean and beautiful, restaurant is fabulously decorated. The owner is lovely and most of the servers have been there since I can remember; always smiling and on the ball, providing endless water and excellent service. The veggie korma is my absolute favourite ever.

This restaurant is such a contradiction. It has the potential to become the best restaurant in Ottawa (if not the country). All the elements are in place. Awesome, atmosphere, great staff (mostly), and good food. The only stick in the ointment is a single toxic personality in the guise of a server, who seems intent on destroying all of that and ensuring that you never come back. She's a bit older than the other servers (who are all excellent), but this is not about age. Irene's up the road seems like an older crowd of patrons and servers, but they are awesome...but I digress, this not about Irene's, I just wanted to show that the contradiction at Patty's boils down to one personality. It's a real pity, because everything and everyone else there is out of this world.

My husband and I went for lunch following the Carleton Place Triathlon. My husband got a free meal with his tri registration. He had a spicy chicken wrap with cold soup. He loved it. I had the veggie smash burger with sweet potato fries. It was the best veggie burger I've ever had. It came home made mustard, relish and ketchup on the side (all were amazing). The bun was fresh and chewy. The prices were excellent value for money. We will definitely go again.
Oh yes, and the service was fast and friendly!

No long winded review here just want to state the facts. Excellent food, service is great, atmosphere is good but not great considering its in a parking lot. But take note that the bathrooms just reek, I was there 2 yrs earlier and the one thing I remembered was how smelly the mens bathroom was, well it hasn't changed. Its such a turnoff because it only makes me wonder if management has no control or cares less about sanitary conditions then I wonder how the kitchen is maintained. Too bad cause otherwise its a great eating place.

My friends and I went after a day of XC skiing and had a wonderful evening. The meal started with a complimentary bowl of homeade chickpea soup topped with fresh cilantro - delicious. I ordered the super tasty melt in your mouth lamb shish kebab.
BTW - we loved it so much we bought some the owner's 'secret spice' to take home with us!

Wow, this is miles better than most sushi places in town, including some that claim to be authentically Japanese and then go on to charge you $25/person for *crunchy* sashimi (yes, you read that right). I'd much gladly spend my money at Sushi 88. Wonderful, creative rolls, good service, most definitely coming back.

Came to Sante with friends from out of town who wanted delicious food in a snazzy environment with a great view. Sante was the clear choice. We were seated in a wonderful table which overlooked the Chateau Laurier and Sussex drive. Our meal was wonderful, fresh, tasty, and beautiful executed. Service was good, our server was very knowledgeable and recommended our wine which we loved. Only negative was the cappuccino machine was not working, so we settled for a coffee.
Great place to bring out of town guests! Will be back very soon!

Very friendly staff, really good fish and chips, wings, burgers, and weekend breakfasts WITH FRIED BALONEY - YEAH! The decor is tired but just like what you would find in small town Newfoundland. The washrooms are clean. If you go there just to eat, especially in the evenings and on weekends, be prepared for lots of rowdy barflies - this is very much a neighbourhood bar with loyal regulars.

I came here for lunch a few months ago and was very impressed. We arrived just as the place opened up; the upstairs dining area had not been opened yet. Regardless, I asked if we could have a table on the upper level and the wait staff accommodated our request and opened up the upstairs area and we were given the option to have our choice of any table we wanted. We chose a table on the North side of the restaurant with a great view of the By-ward Market. My burger tasted a little dry but as I had never tried buffalo or bison before I didn't know if that was normal or not. Aside from that the atmosphere was so nice I probably would have even enjoyed a bad meal in that restaurant, sitting where I was.
