We have gone there several times as it a local place for us. The service was excellent and everything at dinner was very well prepared even though we made small request changes. The menu has excellent choices. We went with 3 kids who were able to get their specific choices. Everyone was quite friendly. Last week we went for an early dinner and they were full. I don't usually do these reviews. I also drove from Oakville to this restaurant for take out, a lot of thai restaurants close to me are closed on Mondays. This was the best chicken pad thai I have had, I will drive here again any day of the week. Lots of chicken and really tasty! Lire plus

I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch. The food is imaginative, superbly prepared, and so delicious, that even when I'm full, I often look at the menu again, just to see what I'll be ordering on my next visit! And the patio? The Decor is fantastic. Tables and chairs are well-constructed, and the lighting sets a charming mood. The food is well-prepared and fresh. Honey Garlic Sesame Chicken (not quite General Tao, but close enough) was very crunchy and well-textured. They used real honey so the sauce on the chicken was thick and rich. The beef rollover was good and cooked well but could have had a bit more sauce in it, a little dry to chew and swallow. The real treat was the soup-filled pork dumplings which exploded with flavour every time. This is an active and busy restaurant, so be prepared for lots of people eating and settling at tables. The staff works to clear the tables quickly, but they can sometime seem abrupt in their manner. Washroom has modern fixtures and is kept clean. Lire plus

I hosted my birthday party this past April at Casa Manila (group of 30!) I was esctastic to discover that they hosted a Sunday brunch buffet with their top menu selections. Mila was my contact and she was AMAZING. Food was absolutely delicious! I had several guests with a diverse array of dietary restrictions (including vegetarian and no pork). Every single guest complimented the selection and quality of food. We all left with fully satisfied bellies. I definitely recommend this place! Lire plus

Fabulous food! I have walked by on several occasions and was certainly not disappointed when finally trying their place. You can tell the food is made from scratch and with skill. The real buffalo mozzarella in the caprese is a nice change and the lamb was cooked perfectly. Ambiance was nice and relaxed, not overly noisy. Waiters are very nice and attentive. Wine list is impressive. Biagio himself was nice enough to introduce himself at our table; A very pleasant surprise. Apparently they have monthly wine tasting events too. We will definitely return. Service was exceptional!!! The owner of the restaurant and his wife (I wish we asked for their names but unfortunately didn’t) were extremely nice the whole time! Also accommodated really well for a nut allergy, which is uncommon in my experience, so big thanks go to their chefs. The food was incredible. As soon as we walked in, Elias knew it was the first time we were visiting. There were lots of other people that came and went while we ate our lunch and it was obvious he has lots of devoted customers and it's no surprise - the food is delicious and Elias is a really nice guy. The best thing we had was the 'lentil and rice' which looked like refried beans and tasted wonderful. The falafel and the hummus were also excellent. Since it was our first time, he gave us both a piece of apple cake which was also very good. The place is highly recommended for both it's food (quantity and quality for a super low price) as well as for the great service. Be warned - he's only open until 5 Monday to Friday and 3 on Saturday and you don't want to miss it! Lire plus
