Maria's is a Kitsilano institution. The atmosphere is everything you would expect a Greek restaurant to offer complete with pictures of Greek scenery adorning the walls. The food is really good and even my wife who is not the biggest fan of Greek food loves the food at Maria's. I usually have what I had on our most recent visit...one of the souvlaki dinners. Our most recent trip I had chicken souvlaki and the chicken was perfectly tender and the potatoes and rice were great too. Next time you have a hankering for Greek food visit Maria's Taverna on 4th! I live nearby, and visit several times a year. Good food, nicely varied menu, good selection of draft (including Red Truck IPA, my fave!). Extremely friendly staff, and solid live music on some weekends. My only minor concern is that they don't always have local sports teams on their TVs, had to ask for a Lions game to be put on screen midway through 1st quarter. All in all a great neighbourhood pub.
