In a city with a disproportionate number of Thai restaurants, Baan Thai has always been my favourite. The old location was very cool, hidden in an alley, I had no clue what I was in for the first time I went. The move to Blower's made the place easier to find, and the food remained great.
Lunch specials from 11:30 to 3:000pm mean you can get a delicious filling meal for around $10. I am a fan of the green curry chicken made Thai spicy. The pad thai is also very good, and comes in a size that makes sure you won't leave hungry.
The previous reviews on this place are pretty polarizing, but I'm firmly standing my ground that this is a solid choice for thai food in downtown Halifax.
A few co-workers and I decided to check out Baan Thai for lunch, and although the place was very warm (it is summer after all), we were pleased to have ample cool water, great service, and a surprisingly awesome lunch served to us.
Service overall feels a bit formal and disjointed, but I'm going to chalk that up to cute cultural differences. As one example, we ordered an appetizer, it was brought, we ate it and then plates arrived for the appetizer. It didn't bother us because we didn't care about needing the plates in the first place, so onward we ate!

Amazing results! Very recently, I woke up with torticollis which is an unpleasant and painful neck condition. I have attended a couple of sessions at the ANWC and not only did the pain go away, but so did the cause of it. Despite the prognosis of not being able to move my neck for at least a week, I felt well enough to return to work in 1 day! I was absolutely fascinated by the freedom and lightness I felt not only in my neck but in my entire body - my back felt alive and awakened!

A fantastic company! Honestly, I cannot say enough about them. When I was having problems on the weekend and did not have any water in the middle of the winter, I gave Brewters a call. Within the hour they were at my house and did not leave until I had at least temporary solution. When the parts arrived a few days later, they were back and completed the work. Their were issues outside of their control, but made sure that when they left that they problem was fixed properly.

Ken does fantastic work. Ken and his team tore down our old leaky chimney and rebuilt it with all new materials, new firebox and finished with new tile inside. From providing a written quote, answering all our questions, explaining each step throughout construction, keeping a tidy site and even saving us a significant amount of money by being able to salvage part of the old chimney, we would recommend Ken to anyone. Dr Crooks is wonderful. Patient and kind, I've never once felt rushed. Instead, I felt that he really took the time to listen to my medical history and my current issues.
