My boyfriend and I have visited Akasaka a few times now and have enjoyed every dining experience here. Although the owner is Chinese, he has studied in Japan and the chefs are Japanese. We agree that they serve up the best rolls in Richmond Hill. During our most recent visit here a couple of weeks ago, we enjoyed their 10 tation roll (unbelievably delicious lobster roll deep fried!), Crown Royal Roll (fois gras, eel, caviar & gold glitter), Super Rainbow (soft shell crab), and a few pieces of nigiri. Some of their rolls look questionable ('Thai' Passion, 'Korean' kim-chee roll), and being of Japanese descent, I avoided these. Thai/Korean twists should not be mixed or confused with Japanese rolls - surely they serve these to cater to Koreans and people who enjoy Thai food. We strictly stick to their rolls (and make an exception to some nigiri). Not every Japanese restaurant does well with bringing in top quality sashimi. The waiter did not bring us our dry noodle sticks which they bring to every table at no cost. We had to ask and later remind them twice. My boyfriend ordered us the green tea creme brulee for dessert as he enjoys it very much. The serving is very small, however it is quite delicious. Our bill came to approx $78 (no alcohol). The rolls are not cheap, but you pay to get top quality here. All the rolls we had were excellent - among my favourites were the 10 tation & Crown Royal rolls. If you've had them, you will understand what I mean. They are killer! The teppanyaki here is also very popular, as evidenced by the occupied tables. We however don't do teppanyaki, as you pay for the show. The food is not spectacular and if you're coming to a Japanese restaurant which is well-known for its rolls, its these items which one should stick with. Lire plus

Our family goes to this place all the time. We tried other buffet places and the food is not as good as here. I have food sensitivies to avocado and have made requests to make some dishes without it...and they were very accomodating. Maybe we are spoiled since we go there a lot and the owner has become familiar with us....oh well. When you like a place - Im sure you go there often. Yeah....it can get busy there so we know about the slow service at times.....But overall you cannot find a more homey place for sushi in Whitby - IMO. Go for lunch during the weekday and you do get pampered. For lunch I suggest getting the teriyaki stuff since there are NO sashimis. The Oishi Maki roll is really good. Lire plus

I have been coming to this restaurant for almost 10 years now. I love Scrambles! My eyes are always perfect and so is my bacon, they have the best hash browns going. The prices are great and the staff is friendly. When I lived in Toronto I would drive here on Sundays just to east their specialty pancakes! Amazing! Pumpkin and strawberry rhubarb are my favorites! This place is packed on weekends, but I usually don't make it out for breakfast till noon anyways. I have and still will always revoked Scrambles to all. Lire plus
