Had heard so many positive things about the Mahle House, decided to make the drive to Cedar to give it a try. It was a great decision. The room is...quaint. Style of decor wasn't really my cup of tea but it's an old house and it suits its purpose. I must say it was quite cozy. Server was a little frumpy but efficient and attentive. That must sound so shallow, but I want to be honest. She didn't make suggestions, which is something I adore when dining out. My guest and I dine out all the time, so we were able to navigate the menu with ease anyway. Reading the menu, everything sounded delicious. We decided on the seafood trio appy in which all the seafood was cooked just right. Scallop seared only on one side and tender. These folks know how to do it right. I had the stuffed chicken and my guest had the tuna. I was surprised at how large the portions were. I could not finish my meal, it was huge, rich and soooo good. My guest had the tuna which was slightly overcooked, though we did not specify a temperature (we like it rare), but nonetheless very tasty. We managed to save room for dessert and shared a dessert sampler. Rich chocolate treats and a small creme brulee. Fabulous. We bought lawn soil, $3500 worth, for a brand new build. We planted lawn seed and millions and millions of mushrooms came up. We had also bought planter box soil, but no mushrooms there. That was July...5 calls and manager, Jenta Madsen, finally called back Aug 2nd and agreed to bring 3rd party in to help as it was clearly soil issue. It’s now Oct and she has not refunded our money as promised, no 3rd party has come and she won’t return calls or emails. Worst customer service EVER! Buyer beware Lire plus
