LOVE! with so many options for Chinese in Victoria, you can't go wrong with Sampan Express. If you are looking for table side service, linen, candle light, may be a bottle of wine.....etc.. this would NOT be the place for you . They aren't the best but hey.... for around 10 bucks a head you get a decent meal , I had a 3 items combo from their hot table for just $9.25 + tax. my girlfriend Linda had a wonton soup......best wonton.....said Linda. WE WILL BE BACK

Their pre-Covid buffet was not huge, but the assortment was very very good and the quality was excellent and always fresh, being constantly renewed. Since Covid, we have been getting their take-out and it has never disappointed us. We always get too much and we really enjoy having the leftovers for breakfast the next day.

Small and clean little restaurant right across from the Victoria Head Quarter Police Department and also from Save On Foods Memorial Areana. If you like spicy food or less spicy, even not spicy, this place has it all. I been eating here for many years with my family. Foods always taste consistently, absolutely delicious. Foods serve in less than ten minutes. They are fresh , portion are big with reasonable price. This is the only Chinese Restaurant we always dine out . They are the best,love it.

I stumbled accross Vic's Steakhouse last Friday and was more than happy I did. I was staying in the James Bay area for a week and was surprised that I hadn't heard of this gem from more people!
We sat in the lounge and were served by a bartender who was charismatic and knowledgable. The service was prompt but not rushed, and we were treated to great music by a live band.
I ordered the halibut, as I do not eat meat, and it was done perfectly. Very simple but flavourful at the same time. My companion ordered a steak and said it was one of the best he had experienced in Victoria so far! We shared a home made ice cream sandwich for dessert and at the end I was so full we ended up staying and enjoying the band for another cocktail.
I would reccommend this restaurant to tourists and locals alike and will definitely return!
