I've been to this restaurant twice now and both times the food has been great. But I was there with my husband's family last night for my father-in-law's birthday. My mother-in-law had brought a birthday cake to the restaurant and had asked them to bring it out as a surprise when it was time for dessert. Everything was going great until the server informed my mother-in-law (just before they were about to bring his birthday cake out) that we would be charged $10 just for them to bring it out! We said forget it, and we took the cake home and had it there! We would have ordered coffees and cafe au laits to go with the cake, so they certainly would have made at least another $20 off of that, but it's their loss I guess. So to summarize, the food was excellent as usual, but we were very disappointed that they wouldn't accommodate our birthday cake with out a steep charge - it left a bad taste in our mouth. Lire plus

They have a bit of a different set up, you order your food then you sit down and get served. The place is cozy, and the food is good. The sandwiches especially are fantastic, and you have a good choice of bread. They also serve different coffees and teas, with organic coffee that's really good (I'm not a big coffee person). We have eaten at the Quarry for many years, usually for breakfast, but occasionally for lunch and dinner. We used too live a walk's distance away, but even though we've moved from the neighborhood still drop down. It's decent food, good portions and we've always found, good service. We have found that on events such as Mothers or Fathers days there will be lineup, but you generally don't have to wait to long to seated. My only criticism, is that they could use 1 more serving staff in the morning on these occasions. That being said, meals seem to get to you in not too bad a time. And......they keep that coffee cup filled up. I'm going to address what I read in the other thread on this place. Like I said, I have been to the Quarry many times and have seen countless children there in my visits . I have 2 children (teenagers now) that we have taken there since they were infants. They, and us, were always made to feel welcome, and valued customers. I don't doubt the women's story, but never have I seen anything like it happen. Lire plus

The waitresses are lovely. They are bubbly and smile often which is refreshing at a restaurant. We went with a table of 4 great service on Sunday Brunch! We did not feel rushed either.
