Rokko makes a pretty decent Japanese meal, but don't go there expecting anything upscale or truly unique. Adequate is the word that comes to mind, you can eat cheaply and quickly and the people there are always friendly. They just don't have the space or budget to provide an "excellent" experience. I would recommend them for a quick meal on the go, but this is not a place I would take friends to show them the very best of Surrey. Sorry guys, but keep trying! Lire plus

So a bunch of us finally headed down to the Blue Canoe for dinner. A few had been there before, and a few hadn't, but we always go and critique places together. Absolutely loved the atmosphere, not a detail was spared in the design of the restaurant. The real tester is of course the food, and it did not disappoint. They've thrown together some amazing flavours and clearly taken some chances that have worked out in their favour. The Drummettes....I don't eat chicken wings anywhere, but these ones were in a soy sauce of some sort that was fantastic!! The BBQ Salmon was probably the best salmon that I've ever had at a restaurant....not overcooked like most places. So much flavour. That was it for me, but others had a wide variety of food and rave reviews on all counts. A few questions on the sides that they came with, but generous portions and smiles all around. Generous portions, reasonable prices and very friendly, fast service. Speaking of food: grilled cheese for starters was excellent, as were also our main courses, chicken souvlaki, roast lamb, and calamari dinner. However, my veal schnitzel was very average at most. I particularly did not like the tomato sauce on the top of it and kind of dried, thin texture. I will stick to souvlaki next time around. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant. Lire plus

The only drawback is the lack of parking in the area, but there is usually a street parking spot within a block, and its well worth the walk.
