I was here on a friday night te place is small and most likely family owned BUT the halibut and chips were delicious! The halibut is perfectly crisp and the fries are crisp but not overcooked! This was our first time at Simply Thai Cuisine. It was recommended by a Toronto relative who has been impressed by the food and service on a number of visits. This restaurant was well worth the trip from London. Every item was excellent and our waiter was very helpful and understanding. The prices are extremely reasonable. I love their fresh spring rolls. Flat out my favorite dish. They are crisp and chewy. Their pork and chicken skewers are excellent; I like the chicken slightly more. The peanut dipping sauce (used in the skewers and the rolls) is excellent! I usually get their gang dang which is very spicy and has a nice mix of vegetables. Their pad thai is pretty good, but it isn't a dish that I like a lot. Their fried spring rolls are excellent. The waitstaff are very friendly. Lire plus

I have been going to Satay on the Road off and on for the better part of 15 years and have never once in that time had a disappointing meal. The food is always fantastic and despite having tried a myriad of different items I always come away from Satay satisfied. Of particualr note are one of the appetizers and one of the mains. First, the appetizer. Golden Baskets. They should call them by their full name...Golden Baskets of Amazing Tasty-ness with Just the Right Amount of Flavourful Spicy Goodness. I guess there isn't enough room on the menu for that though. These and the spring rolls are the perfect combo to kick off your meal. The second is Cashew Nut Chicken. I still hold Satay on the Road's Cashew Nut Chicken up as the gold standard for this dish. On a recent visit it made me miss Toronto...it is that good! The drinks list is kitschy too...they have their cocktail menu on those paper place-mats that used to be all the rage back in the '70s. Ah nostalgia. Anyway, located in the heart of Bayview Village...the area not the mall...Satay on the Road is a must dine for anyone who loves Thai and Malaysian food! Lire plus
