If you only have a one hour lunch then this is definitely NOT the place for you to eat at that time. We arrived and it was busy. The place seems cramped but it appearred to be clean. We had reserved a table for noon and waited a while to get seated. When the waitress finally made it to our table we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. It took a long time just to get our drinks and a very long time for our food. It ended up being an hour and a half lunch. Most other restaurants in the area offer a quick lunch so people can get back to work in a timely fashion. This is where The Wood falls drastically short. The food was good, this I will not dispute. By burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and nice also. Unfortunately the speed of service will have to keep me away from this restaurant. Lire plus

Went in for drinks, seemed like a decent place. Only complaint is that the music is just far too loud, but that seems common in small pubs like Peddler's. Word of advice, if you go at night, bring cash or a credit card as they don't use their Interact machine past 10:30PM, and you'll have to use the on site private ATM, which means a high service fee to use, as well as another one to your bank. - TD Canada Trust charges as much as $3.50 per transaction for using another machine that isn't theirs. In short, it's a good place to go if you want to get hammered and listen to live music. Lire plus

We wandered around Ottawa for an hour before randomly selecting Fat Tuesday's. We heard the piano playing and just had to go see what it was like. The restaurant looked great and the piano was excellent background music. We started our meal with the alligator and it did not disappoint. Afterwards we got the proscuitto wrapped chicken. They had a slight issue with some of the chicken being undercooked, however, it was quickly fixed when it was brought to their attention. When we received the cooked meal we found that it was definitely worth the wait. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Despite the small problem we would recommend this restaurant to friends and family and will probably go back. Lire plus
