Conveniently located in the heart of the Punjabi Market in South Vancouver, Punjab Food Center is a one-stop shop for affordable staples and all the hard-to-find ingredients for Indian recipes.

As an ambitious young man, in 1975 Harinder Toor left India and immigrated to Canada. He immediately noticed a lack of Indian spices available in his new home of Vancouver. Recognizing a good business opportunity, in 1981 he opened the doors of Punjab Food Center and has been providing quality products and friendly service to a multi-cultural customer base ever since. “Every day is interesting because there are customers from all communities coming into the shop. Everyone is welcome,” smiles Harinder.
