I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch. The food is imaginative, superbly prepared, and so delicious, that even when I'm full, I often look at the menu again, just to see what I'll be ordering on my next visit! And the patio? Good atmosphere and excellent food. We enjoyed a tasty steak with garlic mash and ceasar salad on the side, chicken wings as a starter and had a lovely chocolates brownie with ice cream, cream and chocolate sauce for desert, excellent and very reasonably priced for downtown Toronto. Last week we had to organize a sudden meeting for our project with US clients. Due to lack of time we missed out planning for lunch but thanks to my ‘Opentable’ app Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Chicken Parmigianino, Spring Lamb with red wine that I found Carmelina Restaurant in Woodbine Avenue. Their event catering service for lunch & evening snacks made me & my team proud on my decision. I wonder how I missed looking this food place for last many years. Thank you Abbas for your cooperation & on-time food catering service with delicious Italian food as our guests loved it.
