I read all the reviews prior to making reservations there. It seemed to me that the bad reviews were from folks that did not know what to expect and were surprised when they got there. The web page is quite clear of the menu and venue. I saw it and was not surprised when I got into the restaurant.
We went for dinner before a show at the NAC. The server was at our table promptly and even asked if we were going to a show so that she could ensure our service and food would allow us plenty of time to get to the show. Very thoughtful and the service remained top notch throughout.
Our appetizers were great. Our dinners were very good, the fish was fresh, the steak was done exactly as asked, the duck confit melted in your mouth except for the crispy skin...which was perfect. The sides were appropriate for the meal and also delicious but the 3 root vegetable mash that came with the Duck was extraordinary and deserves mention..Some had desserts which were declared as a real treat.
We were in and out in time for our show but never hurried or short changed in our dinner. A very good experience overall. Pricey? Well, it was everything that was posted on the web page so no surprised at all. A very good spot with very good food and caring , professional servers.

Emma, a note of thanks for your help in guiding us through our cemetery and funeral decisions and arrangements. The process went much better than we imagined. Touring the grounds allayed any feelings of hesitancy and discomfort we had quickly opened the conversation to our thinking and for you to point out cemetery options. I really enjoyed my visit to the Parliament Pub, patio. I was there with my father and uncle on a visit to Ottawa. I was thrilled to be able to sit under a canopy of green, with a clear view of Parliament Hill, the Centennial Flame and of course the world famous Peace Tower!
The service was great, the waiter was quite attentive and even came over a few times to ask us how the food was and did we need anything?
We had bruschetta, which was very nice. Good fresh tomatoes and real cheese! Along with the bruschetta I had some creamy squash soup, it thick and hot, very flavourful! The salad was pretty with a nice vinagrette, the greens were crisp, as they should be!
After lunch we just sat around sipping our coffee and enjoying the magnificent view. Of course we kept an eye out for some of the pols who like to hang around - trying to come with ways of reducing our taxes I am sure! LOL
The coffee was good too, I am fussy about coffee and often don't like the tasteless drek so often served...
After a quick tour inside to look at the political memorabilia and caricatures we left to continue our visit.
I would recommend Parliament Pub to anyone who is visiting Ottawa. The is a good choice of well prepared and presented food for reasonable prices and they get it on to your table in time. Did I mention the view?

Dr. André Laplante est le meilleur chiropractien ici au Canada je dis bien ici au Canada je le recommande à tout ceux et celles qui ont des douleurs ou un problème médicale ayant rapport avec le champs d activité du docteur. Pendant une dizaine d'années, le dentiste David côté et son personnel m'ont fait plusieurs traitements dentaires et j'ai toujours été satisfait des nettoyages, remplissages et couronnes. Son nouveau dentiste Dr Martin Dubois arrivé à la clinique en 2014 est autant capable et agréable. Je les ai recommandés sans hésitation à ma parenté. Ce que j'apprécie en plus, c'est que je peux marcher de ma résidence à Val Tétreault pour aller à mes rendez-vous sur la rue Belleau où se trouve la clinique.
