It was our first time at the restaurant. We went there because one friend went there before and loved it. Me and my wife decided to try 2 brazilian dishes they do as specials: Picanha - a brazilian steak - and feijoada - black beans stew with diverse pork meat. I never tried something like that before! The picanha was very soft. The feijoada tasting very good because of the smoked pork meat. Both plates came with something called "farova" - I think it's the way they spell it. It's a manioc flour with meat and veggies. Very different! Our friend ate F. Mignon and he liked it.. I tried the sauce, very good. Next time I'll try the gnocchi with the same sauce. Lire plus

Arrayed on top of the noodles in orderly rows are the pork, shrimp and a darkly crisp spring roll, along with strips of vinegared carrot and daikon, shredded cucumber, fresh mint leaves and bean sprouts. Nuoc cham sauce arrives on the side in a pretty little star shaped ramekin. The aroma of the grilled pork tantalizes. It has been sliced thin to maximize the crispy charred exterior, while still being pleasantly fatty and tender. The spring roll is perfectly fried and filled with a dense mixture of delicately chopped meat and vegetable. Our absolute favourite for authentic italian. You know the restaurant is a gem when the local Italians eat there with their whole families (babies too!). As Marcello's is always packed, go early to get a seat (especially if your party is larger than 4) or expect to wait in line at least 30 minutes or longer. Service is prompt when seated and the lively atmosphere makes it very homey. The waiters are efficient, no-nonsense and definitely not snobby(as in other places), and they know the menus. On regular nights we share an appetizer, and dessert with our meals and we are stuffed!! The tirimisu is home made and heavenly; you could easily have seconds. I have been to other restaurants on College street, and quite honestly, at Marcello's the dishes are on par and above on quality. Combine the quality of food, with good portion sizes, very reasonable pricing, and you will see why Marcello's is always packed!! Lire plus
