This little restaurant opened about a year or so ago and is now officially our favourite Japanese restaurant in the neighbourhood. The sushi is nothing short of amazing. An incredible selection of original roll creations is augmented by all of the favourites. What's best is they use wild salmon for their creations and obviously keep abreast of what is fresh at the market judging by their ever-changing special board. I had some wild hamachi sashimi there that just about made me swoon it was so amazing. The noodle soup is very flavourful as well and the only teeniest suggestion I could make would be to remove the skin from the chicken before plopping it into the soup. To top off your meal the tempura bananas and ice cream is not to be missed. The restaurant itself is what you would expect decor-wise but a neat and kitschy touch they include is customer testimonials posted all around the restaurant. The location in the heart of Main and the service also can't be beat. Truly some of the best sushi I've ever eaten. Lire plus

We came here for ‎the dinner, show and dancing. Every table had a good view of the stage. The Abba tribute band was fantastic. The service was excellent. The food was very good & We shared the 3 & 4 course options. We started off with endive salad, mussels, daily pasta special of Italian sausage in red sauce that was cooked al dente, risotto w/ porchini mushrooms & pork tenderloin. Going along Broadway I have noticed the restaurant many times and finally decided to drop in for brunch to give it a go. We sat outside, we didn't mind waiting for a table there. You can have the soup or rice combo made to your liking. We choose soup, many different soup bases to select from and then you choose your meat or veggie toppings as well as type of noodle. There are soup bases without msg too which is nice. I tried the watercress and fish soup base + beef brisket + beef balls with vermicelli noodles and it was delicious. Not too salty either and piping hot in this quite a big bowl. You get to pick a basic drink with the combo or upgrade to a specialty beverage. Lire plus

They only serve pie and it's very good thin crust pizza. We tried the lamb sausage and the margarita one which could have served 3 people. Think gourmet pizza with a red or white sauce. You can watch them take care to stretch out the dough and they use such fresh ingredients. There is wine, beer and cider selection on the chalk menu boards. I was here with a large group seated in a separate area and we ordered so many things. I can only say it was all wonderful. The food was well prepared, good quality ingredients and it all tasted delicious. When they use higher end pork for your sweet and sour pork that is a positive sign. The service was excellent. Casual atmosphere and high quality food is served here. The owner is the chef and enjoys his craft. The chicken where they poured hot oil over it to get the crispy skin, tofu and crab patties with seafood egg whites, fresh vegetables cooked just right, and seafood melon soup you need to preorder were my highlights I particularly liked. Their signature dish is a bitter melon omelette. Lots of parking in the plaza where it is located. Service is fairly good. Lire plus

They use the NoWait program so you can see how many tables are ahead of you and they text you when your table is ready so you can stroll in the neighbourhood. The restaurant is narrow and the tables are small. It has a cool vibe. Seating at the bar is available too. The food is wonderful and so tasty. We had the braised beef special in a wonderful green sauce, the beef cheek, chicken, pork, and tuna tacos and the lamb shoulder dish. No room for dessert. Well worth the wait. Lire plus

Some spots in their parking lot otherwise try the side streets. You have 2-3 guys working fast in the front at the sushi area so the wait for any dish very minimal. Blue fin tuna and hamachi shashimi excellent. We also had raw Ebi, wild salmon, scallop sushi, deep fried eggplant, gomae, monkfish liver, California roll with fresh crabmeat, green tea ice cream also very good. As you wander along Robson Street this is a popular Japanese restaurant that has been here for awhile. Reservations highly recommended. The assorted tempera was excellent, nicely battered, and we tried various appetizers such as gomae, liver, fried fish, clam soup, edaname, tofu, Saba shiroyaki, salmon belly. We ordered various sushi which was lovely plated and tasted pretty good and fresh. Also, Negitoro roll, and a few nigiri items. The service was excellent. Lire plus

Not many restaurants open after 10pm on a Thursday for a late night bite along Robson. The service was average as there was a slight delay to order but the beer came prompt which kept us occupied until our grilled calamari and pork cheeks arrived along with the yakisoba. Pretty good in taste overall. The yakisoba was udon based which was not what I was expecting, and not much meat or vegetable but pretty good. Lire plus

Made to order sandwiches on wonderful chewy bread. We tried the pork and the fish varieties accompanied by our side choices of pickled vegetables and green salad. All tasted fresh and tasty and unique blend. The brewed unsweetened iced tea was a nice finish. The restaurant has this wooden, rustic open feel. We tried one of their mixed beef pho with beef slices, brisket and balls and a salad roll for a lighter meal. No problem to get a table later in the evening. Plenty of street pay parking. The service was good, we were seated right away and had our order taken promptly. The food came pretty fast and was good. You are given your own pot of tea which is great to self refill. Lire plus
