My FAVOURITE restaurant in Victoria. I know why my husband likes it here but it is my favourite too. They have a lot of kinds of alcohol and cocktails and light meals and are spi c and span. The restaurant was near the hotel, and a friend of mine recommended us to go, so we did. First, we were a big party, but we didn't had to wait for a table. Service wasn't bad, but there are things that i would change, the waitress refilled every drink when she wanted without asking and without saying that the refill wasn't free. Over to the food, it was well cooked, as ordered, tasty and it was worth the price, the amounts where for grown up adults, not for kids like in most places. As we where a big party, the only table that was available for us, was at the bar, but the ambience was good, the music level was bearable. Lire plus

So a bunch of us finally headed down to the Blue Canoe for dinner. A few had been there before, and a few hadn't, but we always go and critique places together. Absolutely loved the atmosphere, not a detail was spared in the design of the restaurant. The real tester is of course the food, and it did not disappoint. They've thrown together some amazing flavours and clearly taken some chances that have worked out in their favour. The Drummettes....I don't eat chicken wings anywhere, but these ones were in a soy sauce of some sort that was fantastic!! The BBQ Salmon was probably the best salmon that I've ever had at a restaurant....not overcooked like most places. So much flavour. That was it for me, but others had a wide variety of food and rave reviews on all counts. A few questions on the sides that they came with, but generous portions and smiles all around. A must visit for all 18-25 guys,...when you visit you'll know why....nudge,nudge,wink,wink, say no more, say no more. Needless to say, we were greeted on a busy night with a genuine smile and enthusiasm. Great start.... Our appy was hot,toasted tri-colour tortillia chips with a rich heavy artichoke cheesewith Jalapeno dip that had a almost nutty flavour and the chips had that natural corn taste that everyone just loves. ( we did have to ask for more chips on the plate as I felt that they were a little too frugal on the chips for $9. ) I had a entree of Crispy Panko coated chicken pieces wrapped in small tortillias with cold ice-berg lettuce and fresh tomatos with a tangy ranch sauce. It was both satisfying and didn't clog the arteries. If you insist on clogging your arteries,..have the fries...OMG, they tasted so good you didn't care that they were bad for you.One common occurance again; the portions need to be more generous for the price of $13. Their pizza looked very authentic, with a thin crust and sparse sauce. The pizza was crunchy, piping hot and the toppings were just right and fresh. The steak was decent quality but not med. rare as asked, there fore it was dry and tough. As it is a flat-iron steak, order it rare or med-rare and insist that it is a little pink throufgout and you should be fine. At the end of the day, SJP's is a fun, warm inviting cool restaurant with a decent menu and excellent attentive, polite service. I really loved the way the staff worked as a team and we had several wait staff assisting us! Well-done ladies! My only complaint would be is that if you charge upwards of $12 for a casual entree, make the garnishes and portions more generous and satisfy your patrons. Happy Noshin' Brianm. Lire plus

I liked the décor, the friendly staff & owners.I ordered the Salmon & Chips (fish & chips made with Salmon instead of Cod or Halibut, which they also had). The Salmon was Wild, & delicious. They have specials & Seniors day, which is nice. This was my second time here. The 1st time I took out of town guests from Okanagan who used to live on West Coast of Vancouver Island. The one request they made for when I was taking them out to dinner was fresh seafood. They loved it. I definitely will return. Lire plus

Maria's is a Kitsilano institution. The atmosphere is everything you would expect a Greek restaurant to offer complete with pictures of Greek scenery adorning the walls. The food is really good and even my wife who is not the biggest fan of Greek food loves the food at Maria's. I usually have what I had on our most recent visit...one of the souvlaki dinners. Our most recent trip I had chicken souvlaki and the chicken was perfectly tender and the potatoes and rice were great too. Next time you have a hankering for Greek food visit Maria's Taverna on 4th! The other day I went with my friend Scott to have a bite to eat at Subway and draw some maps. When we got there we were greeted with very friendly staff who helped us choose our lunch and sold me a subway card. I was fortunate to have bought a softdrink with my meal that opened many new worlds to me with Microsoft Xbox and I earned one hundred points that I am expecting in the next three weeks and six days. There is a contest going on and the code that was on my cup for one of the Microsoft Xbox games was a winner. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and enjoyed my Doritos Chips and healthy combo of Tuna Sandwitch with veggies and Ranch Sauce and melted cheese. Unfortunately the tracing paper we got was used to wrap the sandwitches as there were no plates to serve the meal on and the tracing paper had subway printed on it. I tried to find tracing paper in Staples down the street, but ended up investing in some Crayola crafts and other art and mathematical supplies. Overall I had a splendid time and managed to discuss many pressing issues with my friend. Because I bought a Subway card I was fortunate to get a free sandwtich that Scott enjoyed eating as well.
