The décor is light, airy, and inviting. Although there are TV screens on the wall, they are to display menu items, not to distract from dining with sports or news. The background music was middle-eastern, a bit loud at first, but then not intrusive at all. There is a specialty oven which uses a wood fire to bake the middle-eastern pizzas. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we even had a visit from the chef, who is also the owner. We had hummus for an appetizer, the falafel plate, mango juice, and cookies, all made on the premises. Everything was superb. The pita arrived fresh from the oven, looking like inflated volleyballs rather than flatbread. The falafel were generous, delicious, and hot. My only reservation was the amount of plastic used, but then items such as hummus were prepared for take-out and served to us immediately. And we did notice a good many people buy food for take-out. We are very glad this restaurant has opened, and will be sure to visit again. Lire plus

If you like Japanese and Thai food plus all you can eat style sit down this place is great. Prompt service food is well prepared. Not included in the all you can eat are desserts but ginger ice cream is my fav. Beef skewers and pumpkin soup are a must try. Items come as a la carte as well. Oh shrimp tempura is very well made (fluffly not heavy in batter). This is a new restaurant and has a fusion blend of decors. Noise is comfortable for regular talking volume. I try to go to The Longest Yard once every week., and I have been since shortly after it opened. The staff and management are friendly and welcoming and the food is decently priced for the portion/quality you get. It's a 5 minute walk from Islington subway station so if you're planning on drinking, it definitely saves money on cab fare. If you drive, there's quite a bit of parking on Bloor and on Eagle (side street). They have one of the best burgers I've ever eaten, and the beef is organic. They have other options as well, though the menu isn't fully organic. Every day, they have specials for dinner. Fish and Chips tend to be a special on Friday and Sunday night, and it's really good. The added bonus for me is that I'm a Baseball fan and The Longest Yard is the only place I go to where even if there's playoff Hockey and Basketball on, at least one TV will have Baseball and I won't be told "Sorry, nobody wants to watch Baseball." It caters to the family as well as the Sports fans. I was there for the Superbowl and for the Olympic Gold Hockey match. It's not the type of place where people go to get completely drunk, loud, and obnoxious though people are drinking. They also have contests during big events where you can win prizes and even cash! I love their fresh spring rolls. Flat out my favorite dish. They are crisp and chewy. Their pork and chicken skewers are excellent; I like the chicken slightly more. The peanut dipping sauce (used in the skewers and the rolls) is excellent! I usually get their gang dang which is very spicy and has a nice mix of vegetables. Their pad thai is pretty good, but it isn't a dish that I like a lot. Their fried spring rolls are excellent. The waitstaff are very friendly. Lire plus
