I was recently treated by Dr. M. Reskovich for an emergency tooth extraction. The extraction was of a molar and turned into a full surgical procedure, including bone augmentation. This was my first visit to Dr. Reskovich's practice. I am a retired dentist myself and I cannot emphasize enough about the skill, care and attention I received. Dr. Reskovich and his staff were most professional and truly caring. Dr. Reskovich administered the needle very gently and his hands were most skilled as he tackled a difficult extraction with patience. The office was clean and bright; the staff were cheerful and accommodating. Thank goodness some people with foresight and vision saw the opportunity that presented itself when the Shaughnessy Golf course closed in the 60s. Saving a good chunk of the land from developers, the Vancouver Foundation, the Province and the City of Vancouver worked to establish this gem on part of the land once occupied by the golf course. The results are now here for all to see with charming little paths winding among the impressive variety of plants, shrubs, bushes and trees that are all carefully labeled throughout the grounds. There's even a fun and challenging hedge maze! The restaurant is a lovely place to go for a meal and the gardens seem an ideal spot to hold a wedding with great places for photo ops throughout the gardens. And Van Dusen continues to improve with a new visitor centre being built for 2011. The other thing that must be mentioned as a must see is the light show they put on every Christmas. Huge swaths of the gardens are lit up with thousands if not millions of lights. This is all complemented by a musically choreographed light show that happens regularly on the main pond. WIth snack booths offering hot chocolate and other goodies it is a great way to indulge in Christmas Spirit. Visit Van Dusen Gardens and enjoy a little tranquility in the middle of the city!

5 years ago our cat was hit by a car and it was 11:30pm by the time we found him. When he was barely able to move, we knew that we had to get him some care and fast. Our normal vet was closed and there seemed to be few options. Then, looking in the Yellow Pages, we found the ad for Vancouver Animal Emergency Clinic and thank goodness we did. As it turned out, our cat was in shock and suffering from a broken pelvis and a dislocated hip. Without the expert care and fast response of the veterinarians at the Animal ER it is likely that our cat would not have made it until morning. The caring staff ensured that they got him the care that he needed overnight until we was stable enough to be transferred to our vet for further treatment. The fact that he is dozing in the chair beside me today, 5 years later, is testament to the wonderful care provided at the Animal ER. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of having to deal with a sick or injured animal you love and don't know where to turn, call the Animal ER.

Going along Broadway I have noticed the restaurant many times and finally decided to drop in for brunch to give it a go. We sat outside, we didn't mind waiting for a table there. Service was fine and the food came fairly soon. I had an excellent smoked ham benedict which came with cubed fries and a very fresh salad.

Great Entertainment at a very reasonable cost. The food is very good. The only thing I would like to see is Molson Canadian beer, or something like it. I dont care for Craft Beer and I know many others don t, but it seems to be the trend. BUT, in saying that, I still think it is an excellent evening out and a Great Place!

The four of us had a wonderful meal. We ordered 8 dishes to share and that was maybe one dish too many. We tried the kale salad, sweet potatoes, bacon pizza, burrata toasts, tortellini, meatballs, cavatelli and clams with mussels. It was all very good. The service was friendly and excellent. Huge wine menu from reasonably priced to the high end. Our ordered was taken by iPad and it was cool how she was able sequence the dishes out. Nice modern decor with a tasteful bird scheme of course.
