Quaint little cafe with old-world-charm leaded glass windows that open to the street in summer. I have been there many times, always getting one of their breakfast meals. The service has always been quick and polite. The owner/manager was always on site and seems to take pride in good service. The place is usually pretty busy, but has a quick turn around time, so there isn't usually a wait more than a minute or two. As soon as your coffee cup starts to empty, the waitress or busser is over to fill it right back up (if you desire). It is a good old fashioned diner/greasy spoon that is great to sit back and have conversation with friends, and also great prices. Bonus, it is located close to Riverdale farms (TO's 1st zoo) which is great place (free) for kids to see animals, and near riverdale park for a game of baseball, tennis, ultimate or walking the dog. The meal is always done how you like it, and price includes coffee/tea and a small cup of OJ. Not bad at all ;) One of the most economical places to have a full meal, and unlike Yorkville restos I have never been dissatisfied with the food nor the service. The one thing they could improve on is offering more hot water for tea drinkers...we enjoy refills too!

Our roof was replaced by Al's twice in 25 years.

Regardless of the order, whether it's a rush order, or your usual order, Sam strives to make his customers the most satisfied. He is constantly available to for last minute orders and is always honest and ready to help. Once I made an order twice accidentally and knowing that I already made that order he reminded me, just so I didn't order more than I need, saving me money! I recommend D&S from all the other roofing companies we checked out. Our neighbors recommended them as honest and quality work and I do too now. Their quote was upfront and below some of the outrages quotes we got from other roofers. Now, the roofing on our house was done in half a day, they left the area clean of any nails. And there were no surprises or price increases.

This place was on Restaurant Makeover. They did a good job. I ordered pizza before the makeover (they do not sell pizza anymore) and it was very good.
This is the 3rd time my girlfriend and I have been there. Last time we took 3 others after moving someone there for the Price Fixe Menu ($29).
Great quality food! Wait until you see the desert. I don't like deserts but I ate mine and my girlfriend took her leftovers away. The portions are large and taste excellent! Great presentation.
Amazing selection for a Price Fixe Menu. A choice of 5 apps, 5 mains and the deserts change on a regular basis highlighting fresh locally grown fruits.
Will go again and again.
5 meals, 2 bottles of wine & a BIG tip= $250!
