Dr. Yee is an absolutely PHENOMENAL dentist!
I haven't had a dental plan in a few years, so I have quite a back-log of procedures/cavities/crowns that need to be attended to. Dr. Yee did a thorough exam the first day I came to him back in March, and listed all the items that needed attention in my mouth, giving me a wide variety of treatment options for all of them. When my dental plan kicked in in August Jeanny was amazing! She went through ALL of the procedures with me and organized them so I got the maximum coverage from my plan with as little out of pocket expense as possible. She did A LOT of foot work for me, as did Dr. Yee, to ensure that my insurance and dental work was completed as efficiently as possible.
Now here's what sets Dr. Yee apart from any other dentist I've been to! One of the procedures I need is gum grafts. They are quite pricey, so I have a plan to complete the work over the next year and a bit with my insurer, again, thanks to Jeanny's tireless efforts. As Dr. Yee was preparing to do my first grafts today he saw a problem area next to the teeth to be grafted. Without hesitation, he did an extra graft FREE OF CHARGE to help circumvent future problems for me. If that isn't a caring/proactive dentist I don't know what is. Seriously, Dr. Yee, you've got a patient for life!
So in short, great staff, great doctor, everything was very hygienic, and all the equipment used is cutting edge. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist that actually CARES about the health of your mouth.

After years of negative dental experiences, I found the great group at EastVan Dental! Everyone from the receptionists, to the hygienists, to the technicians, to the dentists. Their understanding and genuine care really made the world of difference for me. To have such a caring group take care of my dental needs, starting with a conscious-sedation session, to follow up care. I can honestly say this is the best dental care Ive ever received! I had such a positive experience at this clinic -- hence why I'm writing a review at midnight on a work night! LOL. Needless to say, I'm too thrilled to sleep ; ) So what happened is, one of my molars started breaking apart (the culprit: a caramel apple), and I didn't know what to do. I knew I'd have to have the tooth pulled, and was putting it off because I knew that this would leave a hole in my smile (and spending thousands on an implant just isn't ideal). It was making for awkward eating, so eventually I realized that I had to do the deed and just get the job done -- but my dentist is from my hometown of Kamloops, so I needed to look for one in Vancouver. I polled my friends on Facebook and Dr Jin & came so highly recommended that it was a no brainer to choose him. I called him that day and he worked around my schedule, staying late at the clinic to see me (I work downtown and the clinic is in BBY). When I got there, I was greeted with so much warmth from he and his wife that I was so glad that I'd chosen them -- and to my utter surprise, he SAVED the tooth. I don't know the proper term, but he basically fused my tooth together making it shiny and NEW again. It feels amazing. Instead of having a hole in my mouth and needing to worry about shelling out the big bucks for an implant, he did what I didn't think was possible. I'm so grateful for it because he could have gone the easy (and more lucrative) route, and charged me a whole lot more to do it. Ecstatic. Even though he's not in my neighbourhood I wouldn't go anywhere else. Excellent dentist. Bonus: he's funny too!
