We arrived a little late for without reservations, but the restaurant had a table and seated us immediately (was a full house). My dinner companion ordered a glass of wine (sauvignon blanc) which was delivered promptly. I had Shiraz. We ordered the salade. The salad was crisp, fresh with crunch toasted walnuts, sweet roasted beets, and tangy raspberry viniagrette. The prawns were fabulous, seared tender and sweet, prepared with lemon butter, tomatoes and capers. Our entrees were the New York steak and she ahd salmon. Both were very good, prepared just right with a light charred crust. Did not stay for dessert, as we were out of time and had other commitments (hotel reservation) and a curfew. Our server was attentive, without being intrusive, and very helpful with explaining the menu choices. Unfortunately, he was a he. Room was dark, clean, lots of wood tones... room is a little packed, but acceptable because the darkness assured privacy. Lire plus

I had their all you can eat fish & chips & added prawns. All of it tasted excellent fast service. My waitress was Cherish & she was very polite & right on top of making sure my drink was full & asking if I would like more fish or chips. Was also a very good price for all that had. What a fantastic little eatery for a casual bite. Fantastic selection of nibblies and an even better selection of beers from around the world. A definite must for anyone looking to chill out in a funky downtown spot. Expect to wait on busy nights, I've been there twice now and each time had to wait 10 minutes for a table but the wait is worth every second...not to mention that they will bring you your first drink order to sip while you wait for a table to come free. Yaletown Brewing Company was one of the first restaurants involved in the revitalization of Yaletown and the fact that they're still here has got to tell you something. They make good food and, since they are a brew pub, they make great beer. Like all the other Mark James Group restaurants they offer the cheap beer and pizza nights that my family and I enjoy so much but quite often we head here for all the other great items on the menu too! If you can't decide which beer you want to try ask the server for one of their tasting flights where you get four different beers to sample. The location is outstanding and they have a lounge on one side and restaurant on the other so if you just want drinks and appys after work they are a great spot to choose! Last time we were there I had the Jakarta bowl with lamb tenderloin in a soy sauce with peppers and it was outstanding, My folks were with us and they swore by the fish and chips as well. One other cool thing that Yaletown does is if there is a game on at Rogers Arena they offer shuttle service to the game. So go on down to Yaletown Brewing Company and check them out! Lire plus

They have a good standard menu. My friend loves her BC beef burger and I decided to try the ribs for a change. It was fine and served with coleslaw and potato salad. Lots of booth seating or tables. Not loud so you can hear yourself talk except for the odd child being a little noisy. The service was good especially if you go early evening when not busy just yet. We finished it odd with a sizeable brownie served with ice cream which did the sugar trick. Lire plus

When visiting my friend at nearby Royal Columbian Hospital we stumbled upon this stylish eatery and decided to give it a try! The restaurant is beautifully furnished and warm with dark wooden floor. We ordered the Pad Thai, Green curry and crispy spring rolls. While we waited for the food we could hear the other table rave about their dishes to the server. I am well acquainted with Thai food and couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was about! As my curiosity peaked our spring rolls arrived, well presented and un-oily! Were these really deep fried? The pad thai and green curry were extraordinary! This is probably the best Thai food I've ever tasted and I'll be back with family very soon. Lire plus
