Sushi Club is the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to. Their food is delicious and they have really good service. Even though I don't live in the neighbourhood, I go there because it is the best restaurant. The renovation they had this summer was very good. It affected the restaurant by a lot. I have been going to Satay on the Road off and on for the better part of 15 years and have never once in that time had a disappointing meal. The food is always fantastic and despite having tried a myriad of different items I always come away from Satay satisfied. Of particualr note are one of the appetizers and one of the mains. First, the appetizer. Golden Baskets. They should call them by their full name...Golden Baskets of Amazing Tasty-ness with Just the Right Amount of Flavourful Spicy Goodness. I guess there isn't enough room on the menu for that though. These and the spring rolls are the perfect combo to kick off your meal. The second is Cashew Nut Chicken. I still hold Satay on the Road's Cashew Nut Chicken up as the gold standard for this dish. On a recent visit it made me miss Toronto...it is that good! The drinks list is kitschy too...they have their cocktail menu on those paper place-mats that used to be all the rage back in the '70s. Ah nostalgia. Anyway, located in the heart of Bayview Village...the area not the mall...Satay on the Road is a must dine for anyone who loves Thai and Malaysian food! Lire plus

Tried this place out because of the mostly great reviews, and I agree. Best chicken club I've ever been served, home fries were REAL - DONE ON A GRILL, and were delicious, a pleasure to wait for. The bacon this restaurant uses is amazing, not salty or greasy, fantastic. The chef was surprisingly young (20's), but sure knows his way around a grill, and old-style/old school cooking. I couldn't finish my club (very rare for me). The place is not fancy and the chairs are hard/uncomfortable, but maybe they don't want people sitting around too long? Will definitely be going back here as a go-to spot -- you can dine here with confidence! Lire plus
