My family and I wanted to send our support and love to my sister and nephew in a tangible way that lasted throughout their stay at Toronto General. The colourful bounty of fruit and snacks in the Royal Fruit Basket raised their spirits and sustained them. We were heartened to be able to reach out from Manitoba and make a difference for them. Came on the basis of great reviews so expectations very high. My gf had a huge fish plate that she thoroughly enjoyed. I had a burger that was exceptionally satisfying. We shared a salad that was sublime. Every patron in the lunch seemed to be sharing our experience which included enjoying the waitresses body and looks. Decor far from eloquent or even upscale but all else including waitress makes up for the modest setting.

No doubt their dark roast coffee is some of the best. But this location is very small, busy and cramped. And the parking situation....difficult. Usually finding a seat is next to impossible. Balancing your purchases while waiting to add cream and sugar, a challenge. I will say the staff have always been pleasant to deal with, friendly and efficient. The selection of treats also good, if not a little over priced. Last trip in I bought a hot chocolate for a friend.... good. Another friend tells me the tea selection, also good.
So all in all, if the craving for coffee is great enough, take out at this location is the way to go.
