We go from Ottawa to Sault Ste Marie at least twice a year. We actually time our exit from the city to make sure we arrive in Sturgeon before RIV closes. Since poutine is not on my 'heart friendly' food list, I try to limit my consumption. So when we go through Strugeon - we go to RIV. (Even my Dr concedes that poutine twice a year is an acceptable frequency) I love the mustard 'painted' pogo and the layered cheese curd poutine. 100% BEST. POUTINE. EVER. Lire plus

Good pub grub restaurant made all the better with karaoke night on the weekends! The food is your average pub fare - sandwiches, fried appetizers and the like. However, it is always properly made and always a good treat. Sometimes, however, some dishes can be quite sloppily assembled (wraps are a big offender!) and look unprofessional. More work on presentation would have meant a higher score, because the food is quite good. Service is usually quick, but on karaoke nights it can be a bit slower because the place gets rockin' on those nights! However, since I'm usually up there singing, that doesn't bother me a bit! The bathrooms do need a bit of work, however. Predictably, the atmosphere is where Trevi's excels most. They are easily the best karaoke place in town and it shows - the energy and presentation (by 103.9FM radio personalities and their friends) makes you feel entertained and comfortable. They love to warm up the crowd with their singing and love hearing the regulars belt out some familiar tunes. Good food and amazing atmosphere! PROS: Good food, quick service, excellent atmosphere on karaoke night, a large reception room for parties. CONS: Bathrooms, some sloppily-prepared meals, awful karaoke singers (just kidding!) Hi. I recently stayed at the River Mist Inn in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. My room (#112) was clean and comfortable. There was lots of hot water for showers and the wifi worked well. The motel manager, Anita, was courteous, pleasant and polite. I was arriving very late (after 12 p.m.) after the motel office closed for the evening and Anita kindly accomodated my request to put ice in the room's fridge, which I greatly appreciated after a very trying day and a long drive.
