I had heard terrific things about Domani, a restaurant run by a former pro footballer from Afghanistan who has worked at some of Toronto's top restaurants, and had to come down to High Park and see for myself. The service was very courteous, prompt, and personal. At no point did we even have to ask for anything because it was already taken care of. The food was exquisite, well-presented and skilfully prepared. The portions were large but despite being quite full it was too delicious to leave any behind. The desserts were absolutely amazing, though next time I would do without the espresso. Though Domani requires a bit of a journey, I have not eaten anywhere in Toronto where gourmet food of this quality is available at such a reasonable price and accompanied by such excellent service. I love La Paloma! I have been there so many times, and everytime I go, I love it even more. I have visited the location in Vaughan several times, but have yet to visit the Toronto location. The gelato is one the best I have ever tasted! There are so many flavours to choose from and the cups are always packed to the brim with ice cream. They also allow you to taste different flavours before settling on the one you want. The decor of the place is great as well, very spacious! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with a gelato craving, you won't be disappointed! Lire plus

After learning I would be dining alone tonight, I decided to try a tiny little place I had heard mentioned recently. My waiter was attentive, pleasant and quite knowledgeable about the food he was serving. The overall atmosphere was pleasing and would be the perfect setting for a romantic meal. The choices offered, combined with the soothing surroundings peaked my curiousity enough that I decide for the second time in the evening to try something new. I tried the Bison burger with Warm Potato salad. The server described it to me as a Bison burger with caramelized onions, smoked cheddar, truffle scented mushrooms and barbecue sauce. Jake & Humphreys make all their own bread items that appear on their menu, the combination of the Bison, toppings on a fresh and soft bun, made the whole item a palate pleaser. A nice glass of South African Cabernet Sauvignon enhanced what was already a sumptious dining experience. I will be returning to the restaurant again, definitely a great place to dine, relax and enjoy. Perhaps next time I will take someone with me or perhaps I will again go and enjoy another romantic meal for one! Hopefully next time I have room for dessert as they looked promising! Lire plus

We went on a cold day, so it was nice to take refuge inside a comfortably warm restaurant. The staff are always really friendly (maybe TOO friendly) and I am always happy with my food. Free chips and salsa just for sitting down. The ribs are literally fall-off-the-bone, I thought ribs like that didn't exist. My tip for the wait staff, be more confident, stop apologizing for every little mistake and just be honest to your customers...we'll appreciate it. Arrayed on top of the noodles in orderly rows are the pork, shrimp and a darkly crisp spring roll, along with strips of vinegared carrot and daikon, shredded cucumber, fresh mint leaves and bean sprouts. Nuoc cham sauce arrives on the side in a pretty little star shaped ramekin. The aroma of the grilled pork tantalizes. It has been sliced thin to maximize the crispy charred exterior, while still being pleasantly fatty and tender. The spring roll is perfectly fried and filled with a dense mixture of delicately chopped meat and vegetable. Peach Garden is a rapidly growing chain of Vietnamese/Thai restaurants. The menu is huge with many choices from both cuisines. So far I've tried only the Vietnamese side of the menu but if that is any indication of the quality of the Thai food I can hardly wait. My favourite Vietnamese dish is the pho with 3 types of grilled meat. The meat is beef, pork and chicken. Being done on the gril makes for a nice change from the usual beef pho. The soup is served steaming hot with the meat on a separate plate accompanied by lots of fresh garnishes. For the chilliheads agmonst us, red chillies are served up with a smile. The other Vietnamese dishes are as good, which puts me in a quandry over which is my favourite pho facility. (Number one in Brampton is Pho Peter on Kennedy). The decor is a bit better than most Vietnamese eateries and along with good service makes for a very pleasant dining experience. Highly recommmended. Lire plus
