My boyfriend and I often go here because it's the only Dim Sum we know that uses carts in Mississauga. We particularly like it as they seem to have a much wider selection (e.g. crab claws, suckling pig) than normal restaurants which serve Dim sum.
In terms of quality, I don't think they are best. I have had much better quality of food at other restaurants. Also, even though the selection is vast... What happened to the shui mai? How do you have crab claws and not shui mai?!?! (Edit: Found out you need to order the shui mai... I did and it was not good at all)
I noticed the cart ladies seem to be a bit more strange than at other restaurants... Some will FLY past you, others will scream food names right at you. It is kind of fun for me and my boyfriend to laugh about. (I should note we are both Chinese and both have gone to various restaurants for Dim Sum, and we notice the cart ladies here are particularly strange)
What I found particularly interesting is how many non-Chinese people eat here. I think it's the only Dim sum place I have seen to have such a variety of people here.
I should note that this place gets amazingly busy around noon. My boyfriend and I tend to go around 10:30 or 11 and usually find a seat quickly. If you come at 12 (especially looking for a larger table) you are doomed! haha
So to sum it up:
-Amazing and sometimes unique selection... except that the shui mai has disappeared!
-Decent food quality but not the best. E.g. The shrimp in the ha gow tastes fishy, the dough fritter in the chun fun is soggy sometimes, the spare ribs in the black bean spare ribs w/rice are so boney ahhh!
-Strange cart ladies lol. Sometimes rude, sometimes friendly
-Get there before 12 if you don't like waiting! It's actually more normal to eat Dim sum earlier in the day anyway :).
Also, it seems one reviewer on here stated that the adults and kids are noisy. This is normal for a Chinese restaurant, especially as one as big as Emerald.

Hi,
I visited this place early on a quiet Sunday afternoon in December with a friend, and a $45 voucher. Even though I had waited over a year before using it (no expiry date), the staff were very warm & gracious.
They feature an overwhelming variety of food, so I asked the server about what she suggested, based on my specific preferences. Her suggestion was perfect for my taste.
The portions were very generous (enormous amount of food for only $9 - $11). It was brought to us quickly and it was hot, fresh & delicious. Two of us had $45 to use, & since our first round was only $23 (for both) we went home with a complete second round "to-go".
This will be 1 of the VERY FEW places that I have tried for the FIRST time on a voucher, & will be HAPPY to return.
Good work China Village. Expect us back!

I have never been there for dinner, but for $5 martinis I go whenever I can ;) It has a great laid back atmosphere. Perfect for an after dinner drink without all the noise of a club or lounge.
$5 Martinis until 12 can't be beat and with nearly 100 varieties, I have yet to try them all but I try to get different ones each time. If you want to snack on something well you drink get there before 1.
Great place to go as a group, but get there around 9 before it starts to fill up. Ask if the back room is available. Great little private area if you have enough people.
Nothing wrong with the service but nothing exceptional either.

I love their fresh spring rolls. Flat out my favorite dish. They are crisp and chewy. Their pork and chicken skewers are excellent; I like the chicken slightly more. The peanut dipping sauce (used in the skewers and the rolls) is excellent! I usually get their gang dang which is very spicy and has a nice mix of vegetables. Their pad thai is pretty good, but it isn't a dish that I like a lot. Their fried spring rolls are excellent.
The waitstaff are very friendly.

I live 20 minutes away and go out of my way to eat here often, either for dine-in or takeout. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The flavours in the food are unreal. Try it!!

Was highly recommended by a friend of mine whose family are regulars at Kimling. She catered from Kimling for her son's first birthday party and I was instantly addicted to Kimling's food when I had it at the party. I went last friday with a group of 8 to satisfy my cravings. My friend told me to look for Suzie who is the owner. She is such a friendly lady and made us feel welcomed. She also suggested all the dishes we ordered. They were all delicious. My kids made me order the appetizer called Pepper Chicken thrice because they really enjoyed it! I even ordered the Pepper Chicken, Hakka Noodles and Hot Garlic Chicken to go because they were so good. I will definitely be back and will recommend more friends and family to this little gem in Scarborough.

A friend of a friend asked me to come to the grand opening to this new spot. Free food! Was so good i was compelled to leave 20$. This is now my new fav sushi spot. Not only was the fish so fresh it melted in my mouth, the cooked mackreal was as fresh and delicious as when i caught it myself back in Nova Scotia. THe decor was traditional, BUT was more fun, and the art was done by one of the owners....Heart and soul in every aspect.
